The following statements were submitted by the many members, co-workers, friends and kind supporters of the work and ministry of Bishop Rex Waddell.

"God Gave Bishop Waddell A High Office And He Continues To Raise It!"

"Yet in addition to his various duties, Bishop Waddell is still able to provide a preaching style that has allowed him to cross multiple denominations and age brackets.  Bishop Waddell is able to present a message that the entire congregation can find themselves in the scriptures.  As Bishop Waddell’s message evolves with practicality and attainable solutions identified in God’s word, the answer is only followed with excitement and empowerment with the spirit that makes the listener feel that "God is for me and will bring me out."  Thankfully, unlike many preachers, Bishop has the ability to close with effectiveness, clarity, an excellent exegesis all with a mixture of traditional elements of whooping that embodies the historic African American church experience!

"Bishop Waddell is what I would refer to as a “preacher’s preacher.” His gift for preaching and teaching is simply unsurpassed and over the years this gift has served as an important anchoring component for this ministry. In addition, Bishop’s warm personality and enormous sense of humor has been instrumental in drawing people of all ages and backgrounds to our church. He is especially gifted in the area of men’s ministry having literally mentored hundreds of brothers through his “School of the Kings” charter program."

For over 40 years, I have been afforded the opportunity to observe  Bishop Waddell from the beginning,  Bishop Waddell at a young age work untiringly toward acquiring the education, training and criteria necessary in becoming the dynamic preacher and teacher he is today.  His biblical teaching and delivery of God’s Word is so astounding and powerful, it will have you eagerly anticipating more.  He possesses humble shepherd-like qualities that are necessary to lead God’s people, promoting unity, providing guidance, counseling and overall willingness to give freely of himself, sacrificing whatever is necessary to empower God’s people in the Word that they may empower others to be drawn to Christ.  He is a loving husband and father devoted to his family, and definitely promotes and is an example of the importance of solid family structure.  I believe Bishop Waddell is a spirit-filled, humble, willing and obedient vessel of God.  He is a man of integrity and possesses the knowledge, experienced leadership skills, creating an atmosphere conducive for growth and ability to take your congregation to the next level in God.

"I wanted to provide this letter of reference and support for Bishop Rex Waddell’s solicitation for the office of Senior Pastor at Westside Baptist Church.  I have known Bishop Waddell for over 20 years and have served under his direct leadership for 13 of those years prior to my relocation to California.  Most notable of the things that I have most appreciated during my time under his leadership even until now has been his unfailing love and care for the hurts of others.  Bishop Waddell is a phenomenal leader and mentor but his “shepherd’s heart” is the hallmark of his ministry and leader development philosophy.  Affectionately called the “teacher’s teacher”, Bishop Waddell encourages his leaders and laypersons to embrace the idea of being a church before you attend a church!  He is the consummate leader that is transparent, approachable, humble, and encourages others to minister where they are.  As a leader, his “ministry mapping” and decision priority is rooted in making decisions that have a “kingdom impact” rather than just being a good decision.  That approach has been an invaluable guidepost for myself as I now lead others in my current role as senior pastor in California."
